Primary Care

The Emergency First Response Primary & Secondary Care (First Aid) course, approved by the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services (DCAS), is designed for individuals, businesses, schools, and organizations seeking essential life-saving skills. Covering both Primary and Secondary Care, the course includes CPR, choking management, bleeding control, shock and spinal injury management, illness and injury assessment, and AED use. Participants will undergo 10 hours of training, including written and practical assessments, with a passing score of 75% required. Upon successful completion, they receive a First Aid Certificate and Wallet Card, valid for 2 years and accredited by Emergency First Response.

Hotels, companies, schools, or individuals who require Primary and Secondary Care qualification approved by the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services (DCAS) can enroll in this course. The Emergency First Response Primary & Secondary Care (First Aid) training equips participants with essential life-saving skills.

This course provides first aid treatment references for various emergencies, including:

  • Medical Conditions: Allergic Reactions (incl. anaphylaxis), Asthma, Diabetic Problems, Seizures, Stroke, Heart Attack
  • Injuries & Trauma: Burns, Chemical Burns, Electrical Injuries, Eye Injuries, Dislocations, Fractures, Sprains, Strains, Bruises, Cuts, Dental Injuries
  • Environmental Hazards: Hypothermia, Frostbite, Heat Exhaustion, Heatstroke
  • Animal & Insect Bites: Snake Bites, Spider Bites, Insect Stings, Jellyfish Stings, Octopus Bites, Fish Spine Injuries, Venomous Bites and Stings
  • Choking & CPR: Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, Choking Management
  • Poisoning: Various types of poisoning and their management
  • First Aid Kit Assembly: Understanding essential supplies

Course Duration

Total duration: 10 hours

Assessment

Written Examination

  • Mandatory for all candidates
  • Exam formats may include multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blanks, and short essays
  • Oral examination available if the exam material is not in a language the candidate understands
  • Passing score: 75%

Practical Examination

  • Emergency scenario practice allows participants to apply their skills in realistic situations
  • Participants must evaluate the scene, recall critical steps, and take appropriate action

Certificate & Validity

Successful participants will receive:

  • First Aid Certificate (EFR – Primary Care (CPR) & Secondary Care 1st Aid w/AED)
  • Wallet Card approved by Dubai Ambulance Centre Services and accredited by Emergency First Response
  • Validity: 2 years
